It has been raining here lately and it’s actually good for the plants and air, with everything blooming we do have high pollen counts and hopefully this will wash all the pollen dust in the air. My dad has a chance to use his fireplace also.
I had a bamboo shoot soup for lunch yesterday, my second sister is cooking more Lao/Thai food for us now.
And for dinner we had Summer rolls. The spicy peanut sauce gave me a terrible heart burn, I have to remember to eat less spicy next time.
It’s easy to prepare the summer rolls, and the mints and parsley were from my dad’s garden. I cooked the thin sliced pork, and wrapped with the rice paper sheets.
My dad seedlings are coming along.
The young chili pepper plants.
The Thai Eggplants.
My mom’s orchid has many blooms, the bottom blooms are in the 9th week of blooming now, and the top shoot all bloom at the same time.
My sister Bee’s latest Elephant black leather laptop case. It’s definitely a teaser for me because I want one and she only has one elephant patch.
After watching the news last night, it’s so sad to see what harm the natural disaster can do, and not to mention what is still in the air. Please do help the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund if you can.
When I think of a cherry blossom this is the one I’m thinking about. This pink cherry blossom tree at my dad’s house should be in full bloom by next Saturday.
The crab apple tree that was so abundant last year.
It looks like this one has it beaten by far.
The pear tree.
Yesterday was cold and rainy and I think they are glad to be indoor.
My sister made new swings for her lovebirds.
That’s her talking to her birds, they are great to have as pet. 🙂
It’s kind of odd to see the seagullsRing-billed Gulls at a shopping mall when we are miles away from any lake and not to mention the ocean. They are a few that perched on top of the street lamp post.
And hanging out by the parking lot.
I’ve never seen one this close before, one great thing about a zoom lens. It’s interesting that the beak has a black marking on it.
We usually visit my dad on Saturday, and my sister Bee of Bee’s Design is making some Christmas decorations. This one is a velvet rose for Lee.
Lee loved them.
Bee was making bows for a church for their Christmas poinsettias, 100 red bows to be exact and she still has a long way to go.
Her tools of trade are wire cutter and scissor.
Sticks and ribbons
She has many helpers, but I can’t say that my niece (picture below) and Lee has been a good helper.
Bee had made a leather handbag for me a while back and I loved it. She started making handbags now, this is one of her favorites and it was perfect for Halloween, I guess for Christmas also if you are a scrooge.
It’s a real eye catching.
This is a church that I passed on the way home, Lee was afraid of the passerby cars noises and the dark so I had to hurry and only got this shot.
And I finally hung my mom’s Christmas memorial ornament. The golden ornament has the year 2007 written on the back and it sits on the angel’s lap. Have you ever wondered why most angels don’t have a face? This one doesn’t have a face either, but she sure is beautiful.
I have to give all the credit to Bo, he is an excellent shopper and most of these gifts will be delivered in the next day or so.
