10 Year Anniversary of Blogging at Nye Noona

This has been my virtual home for 10 years and I certainly enjoy blogging at Nye Noona. As long as I could remember, we never stayed at one place for more than 10 years. Since I was little we moved from place to place. We fled from a war-torn country Laos when I was little to Thailand, then we immigrated to American, Brooklyn New York. The church bus picked us up at the JFK Airport to take us to the new apartment passing through Flatbush Avenue late at night on December 10th. This was the first time I saw a strange culture where people decorated their houses with lighted trees, soon I learned that those were Christmas trees. We moved to Philadelphia during my sophomore year in High School and moved back to New York for College. After College, we moved to North Carolina and I have been here since. Since then, we have moved numerous times, obviously within the 10 years time frame except for the last house we lived there for 11 years. I certainly hope that it’s not going to be a trend for this virtual home, 10 years of blogging and I’m still happy here.

  1. Wow congrats on 10 years! As refugees & immigrants, we have really come a long way from home. And to finally put down roots must be a good feeling for your family. I have yet to find my place anywhere…. but I guess they always say, ” home is where the heart is.” I wish you continued success with Nye Noona. Cheers! 🙂

    • Thanks Bree, I trust my instinct, must have a strong sense of belonging and once I walk through the door I just know it.

I do have to brush up on my posting for next year and notice that some of my blogger’s friends are not blogging as often or anymore. I hope to stay motivated. 🙂

      • Yes, I am guilty of almost abandoning my blog. I guess there are other stuff out there people are finding more to their liking such as Youtube, instagram, etc. So this month I attempted a new post 🙂 Hopefully I can stay just as motivated as you in 2017 🙂

        • I’m not an Instagram person but do find Youtube very interesting. I like to photograph and garden but have a hard time connecting to other bloggers out there, and that’s why I missed the old blogger’s friends. Hope to read more of your post in 2017. 🙂

        • Hi Seeharhed, I think you lost all your readers when you only blog once a year. I know it’s hard to find time to blog, I have to discipline myself also and hope to see you blogging more. 🙂
