We have been camping for several years now and mostly camping close to home if it’s just for the weekend. This time we ventured out a bit further and camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge, TN. It was over 3 hours drive and 185 miles. It’s nice to be able to make this trip and being able to spend time with the family. We are fortunate to be able to take my dad places, he enjoyed the weekend. I often thought of my mom, she didn’t have the opportunity to take trips like this. Life is short and one shouldn’t wait until retire to travel and go places.

I still have a lot to learn on how to shoot stars, not to mention shooting the milky way. I thought I would be able to see it clearly in an open sky on a clear night but all I see was darkness and lots of stars but very difficult to capture on camera.
I got up early to wait for the sunrise, Sunday morning sunrise was 7:20 am.
It was worth the wait.
This is a nice signature site, I would love to stay here on our next trip.

The pontoon ride was $10 per person. This was our first time and it went a lot faster than I thought.
I took these photos while the pontoon was moving and didn’t expect to get good shots. The photos didn’t turn out too bad and nice to see the view from the boat. The water was very low and boats that were on water several weeks back are now sitting on rocks and dirt.

The boat was tiny from a distance and difficult to get panning shot, I got one good shot.
It amazed me to see trees survive on rocks.
This was our first time camping in Tenessee and it looked so much nicer than the North Carolina campgrounds that we visited.

Glad to see your father is enjoying this family trip too. I bet the golf cart (electric car) was fun to drive! And nice to see Max, Lee and everyone having a relaxing time at the lake and campsite 🙂
Hi Bree, it’s fun camping with the family, too bad we can’t do it in the winter, most campground close at this time of the year. The golf cart covers more ground, and we can see the whole campground in less than 15 minutes, the bad part is that you don’t get to exercise.
