Bright Venus

Since the time change, it’s dark when I get out from work.  As I walked to my car, I noticed the bright star near the crescent moon, and wasn’t sure if it were Venus at the time.  The first thing that came to mind was that it looked like a kangaroo from a distance since it’s kind of long, not round like most star.  The brightness made me think of the North Star but obvious that it’s not since it rises with the moon from the East. I rushed to get home so I could see what it looks like through the lens.

I got home just in time for the blue hour.

Re-shot on November 7, 2013, Venus from a distance.

  1. Venus and the moon in the blue hour is pretty. This makes me want to be out in the country on a clear night, make a wish and catch a few falling stars.

    • cn, the stars are beautiful in the country on a clear night, we have a nice view from our deck but too bad we have too many trees nearby. I’m glad that I’m able to capture the above image during the blue hour since it doesn’t last very long, and the slow of the shuttle speed at night makes the time go by even faster.
