Lee’s Birthday Party was last Saturday.  We had a full house, and of course it was a Lao Birthday party that started before 1 pm, and lasted until 7 pm.

Lee turned 11, and I have noticed that she has grown so much this year.

Bo helped with the cake and this gave me time to photograph her party this year.

Na has grown so much this year also.

She is thankful for all the gifts from those that came to her party, and also my oldest sister from NYC that couldn’t come.

I’m glad it was a beautiful day, and many guests hung outside and spent some time in the garden.

Before the guests arrived I felt like I was cooking in the Iron chef Kitchen Stadium, I wish I had 10 hands so I could work faster.

Bo did a good job grilling outside and he made good timing.

Lee prepared the fruit kabobs.

One of the greatest things about Lao families and friends is that most of the guests brought foods in to help with the party.  Bo’s mom made Kao Poun below and a few Lao dishes.

The shoes stayed outside, even Lee’s American guests took their shoes off at the door.

I asked Lee to take pictures with all her guests this year.  This is Bo’s friend from college and his family.

Bo’s new friend that he made at work and his family.

My dad, second sister and the girls.

Bo sister, Ross, and the girls.

Bo’s cousin from Canada.

Bo’s uncle and his family.

My sister and her family.

Bo’s family, and cousins.

Max included in the group photo.

Today is Lee’s birthday, and another birthday wish from the left over cake on the day of her birthday.

Only a few party guests came this time, Happy Birthday Lee!

Photos and video were shot with a Canon T2i, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, and EF70-200mm f/4L USM lens.

  1. Following your blog for many years and seen Lee grown to be very beautiful young lady. Happy Birthday Lee.
Nye the buffet spreads all look yummy. I am just so dying for a good home cook meal.

    • salalao, she was very little when I blogged about our visit to Wat Lao Buddhavong in 2007 and now she is taller than some of the adult guests that came to her party. One good thing about a Lao birthday party is that there’s plenty of food. 🙂

About the hot sauce, I asked PaNoy and he said that his brother is not ready to market it yet. I’ll let you know as soon as he puts it on the shelves.

  2. This must have been one of Lee’s favorite birthday parties. Looks like plenty of great food & fun. Especially with all the families and friends from near and far.

Happy belated birthday to Miss Lee. 🙂

    • Hi cn, she is at that stage where she could plan her own entertainment and help out in the kitchen. We have a get together at our house once a year and that’s on Lee’s birthday. 🙂
