Tulips at Biltmore

The  Festival of Flowers at Biltmore starts April 7th, and due to the unseasonably warm weather I didn’t think we should wait if we wanted to see the tulips in bloom.  Our season pass is also expiring this month and we are not renewing it this year.  The weather was real nice on Sunday.  It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 70s.  I have so many photos of the tulip and will have to divide these into 2 posts.  And I do apologize for not replying to comments right away, the video is taking a lot more time than I thought and hope you will enjoy.

Max came with us this time and he was so happy to see other dogs and their owners, and not to mention the many colorful tulips that he can’t touch.

This is one scary looking tulip.

As you can see that some petals have already fallen off.

Talking about a bug’s life, more photos of the tulips click here to see more photos of the Tulips, flowers, and animals at Biltmore to come.

All photos were taken with Canon T2i, and EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens.

  1. Thank you for the beautiful pictures of the tulips – they are my favorite flowers! This reminds me that we need to check out the tulip festival here, north of Seattle, in the coming weeks.

    • Hi houseonthemekong, thanks for your visit and comment. We went a week late since the tulips bloomed too early, and some of the petals fell off already but it’s well worth the trip up the mountain for us. I hope you get to visit the tulip festival in your area, I think it is more beautiful seeing it in person. 🙂

  2. I love the colors…The last time I saw garden full of tulips was years ago – I think it was in Montreal, Canada. Nice bokeh!!!!

    • Thanks seeharhed, they have so many beautiful tulips to choose from and I spent hours wandering in the garden. I’m glad I got some decent pictures back. 🙂

  3. The tulips are gorgeous! You’ve got some great photos. And the video turned out really good. It looks like a busy weekend for the Biltmore.

And nice to see Max had a chance to meet other four legged friends there. 🙂

    • Thanks cn, I brought my tripod along but didn’t get to use it as often. I’m happy with the quality of the video, and have more experience editing it also. The place is dog friendly and many brought their pets as well, Lee was the one insisting that we bring him along and Max was beside himself.

  4. Already tulip-time around your place?!
Wonderful series of photos of them – I wish I could go and see all these beautiful tulips!!
