Saturday Random Photos

Saturday was St. Patrick’s Day and finding a 4 leaf clover is considered lucky especially on St. Patrick’s Day.

My niece was the one that spotted it right away.

Yesterday was a beautiful day.  The weather was hot and it felt more like Summer than Spring. I wonder if this foretell what the Summer will be like this year.  We walked around my dad’s neighborhood to photograph Spring flowers.

We ran into one of the neighbors’ cat.

She is one big cat.

I didn’t realize that weed flowers could look so pretty, but I’m sure it is a nightmare for the homeowner.

The flower trees are in full bloom.

The Japanese Magnolia Trees are in bloom.

This one is in my dad’s backyard.

His pear tree is also in bloom, and I’m glad that we didn’t have any major frost in our area.  I hope that it will bear many fruits this year.

My sister’s cabbages are doing a lot better than mine and they are ready for harvest. It will be a few more days before it is officially Spring, but Spring is definitely in the air and it’s time for gardening again.

All photos were taken with Canon T2i, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens.

  1. Thanks somersaultingthroughlife for your visit and comment. My niece didn’t wear green and got pinched earlier in the day but it looks like her luck had change. 🙂

    • Thanks truels, you will have so much fun with your new camera photographing Spring flowers, looking forward to seeing your Spring photos. 🙂

  2. Your niece has good eyes to spot the 4 leaf clover. I always loved to do that as a kid. Sometimes we would find a couple of them scatter in the yard.

It’s been so cold and wet out here that It’s almost like we live in different hemisphere. I think the weather finally started to bum me out, but then I saw some yellow daffodils and bought some just to cheer me up. Daffodils are better than antidepressants. JK. 🙂

    • cn, the rain might be a good thing for the air, I’m sure pollen counts are high everywhere. Since I’m a gardener I actually like the rain, and cold doesn’t bother the early spring planting at all. The flowers are really a sight at this time of the year.

  3. I am sure that is a VERY lucky four-leafed clover. Congrats to your niece.

We had the same weather but not the blooming trees and flowers yet. Hope they are still blooming in a couple of weeks!

    • Scott, it’s strange that our Winter are shorter and Summer longer than yours, I’m not complaining though and enjoying this weather very much. 🙂

  4. What a beautiful selection of photos – the one of your niece sitting on the grass with that gorgeous skyscape beyond is pure Spring. We are weeks away from that kind of bloom. Nice to see it, here, though!

    • Thanks Gerry. I’ll wait to see your Spring photos and by then it will be the beginning of Summer for us. It is interesting to see seasonal photos across the world wide web.
