The NC H.O.G. Rally was in Hickory this year, so Lee and I thought we would check it out on Saturday. The HOG stands for Harley Owners Group. This is my first time attending an event like this so I really didn’t know what to expect. I tried to dress to blend in a little bit better. I had on my black ankle length skirt, grey t-shirt and black leather sandals. After checking myself in the mirror, I think I would blend in better with the Amish community.

There was plenty of parking space in the back, the bikes didn’t take up too much room as you can see.

We got there around 1:30pm (13:30) and it was extremely hot and humid.

We actually went there for lunch, that’s how I convinced Lee to go with me. The food was not bad. I had a hamburger fixed all the way, pretty much how it is prepared in the south. The hamburger tasted a lot better than it looks so don’t let the messiness fool you.

Lee had a plain cheeseburger with french fries.

After we ate Lee wanted to leave, so not much picture after that. We walked around before heading over to the Harley-Davidson Store next door.

This is where most bikers hangout this week.

Hickory was buzzing with bikers this weekend.

Hi lady0fdarkness, Lee has grown so much this summer. She is going into the 4th grade this year. 🙂
I would agree with Lee here: bring on the food! Plus I’m not into Harley at all. Much too noisy. But am in love with a Vespa scooter. Just need to watch out for the bad drivers.
Btw, I think you would blend right in with a leather vest and fake tattoos. JK! Then again, Harley riders come in all variety. So you would have no problem fitting in. 🙂
Hi Cambree, surprisingly there’s not much action while we were there. I think they had events at different parts of town such as the Hickory Airport and Blue Ridge Parkway where they can test out their speeds and seeing nice scenic view of NC. We can’t stereotype people and their hobby anymore, I know a couple that live in my dad’s neighborhood both have a Harley bike and they look clean-cut. I’m not into Harley also, but it’s interesting to visit the event.
omg lee is looking so pretty and so mature!
