Checking Out Wilson Creek

I didn’t get to visit the rice paddy yesterday and can’t believe that this is the 4th year I’m posting about this paddy.  If you are interested in knowing what happens after the harvest, I made a post in August 2008 that covered this in great detail. Here are 2 photos from the post Rice Paddy Harvest, Grain and Post-Harvest.

We normally visit Biltmore for the flower carpet this time of the year but it doesn’t look like they will have one.  I would imagine that it costs a lot to have fresh flowers carpet on display and kind of disappointed that they didn’t have one this year.

We did find a great spot and would visit on weekends.  One of Bo’s friends took him fly-fishing at Wilson Creek and we went back on Wednesday evening.  We got there late and didn’t get to spend that much time.

Lee didn’t hesitate to jump into the lake for a swim.

Bo tried his luck again with fly-fishing but didn’t catch anything.  He didn’t have a proper gear and should be better prepared next time. I also hope to get a better shot of the creek on our next visit.

  1. Sorry to hear Biltmore isn’t doing the flower carpet this year. Maybe the next time you visit they’ll have something equally as beautiful.

    • Cambree, they have a Tiffany stained glass lamp exhibit until October 23rd, we might go in the Fall when the leaves change color. They have outdoor concerts but kind of pricey for us and not exactly the type of event for Lee. I think Lee is just happy to go there for their pizza, I guess it’s that good. 🙂
