An Invitation for June Photo Scavenger Hunt

I hope you will join in the fun for June Photo Scavenger Hunt by Karma

The list for June’s Photo Hunt:

  • a colorful bird of your choice
  • a grad – of any sort
  • a dad – of any sort
  • something purple
  • a butterfly
  • a funny face

BONUS: a cow, bull, heifer, calf or ox.  Extra bonus points for my favorite, the belted galloway.

As for purple color, I have two examples to share. I took these photos at Biltmore.  A damselfly comes in various colors and this one is purple.

Canon T2i, EF70-200mm f/4L USM lens, Manual, f/5.6, 1/3200sec, ISO 800, focal length 200mm, closeup cropped, evaluative metering

I think this bumble bee has a tumor, I couldn’t get close enough to get a good shot.

Purple flower - Canon T2i, EF 17-40mm f/4L USM lens, Manual, f/5.6, 1/800sec, ISO 200, focal length 40mm, closeup cropped, evaluative metering

This is not a purple color but a blue damselfly and green leaf.

Canon T2i, EF70-200mm f/4L USM lens, Manual, f/5.6, 1/1250sec, ISO 800, focal length 200mm, closeup cropped, evaluative metering

More green grass, Bo is green with envy.

  1. This sounds like a fun assignment.

And I’ve never seen dragonflies in those pretty colors before… nature really is beautiful.

    • Cambree, I hope you will join the hunt, all of us are amateurs so there’s no pressure at all. 🙂

These are the damselflies, the body is a lot smaller and thinner than the dragonfly. I thought they were baby dragonflies at first until one of the nature bloggers pointed out to me. They have the most prettiest color, I should have saved the purple damselfy image for the hunt, now I have to look for a purple color. 🙂
