Saturday Random Photos

Lee and I went to her school Winter Fest.  It seems odd to have it during this time of the year since Spring has arrived in our area.

Lee decided to have her hair color, they hosed her down good with color hairspray.

It was raining so I didn’t have a chance to explore their garden area, but captured what I could from a distance.

I finally get to see my dad burning woods.  It was chilly outside, warm and toasty inside.

My mom’s Orchid is in the 6th week of blooming.  The branch was tilted low and my dad made a little fence for it.

My sister Bee of Bee’s Design and Finds‘ handbags have made their way to her company’s catalog featuring in the talents section. If you recalled I blogged about this face handbag back in December.

That is her modeling her handbags, and not your typical Lao name either.

  1. These photos are absolutely wonderful!

I like Lee’s depiction of Thomas Jefferson. And that purple daisy has such amazing color. Love how it looks with the rain or dew drops.

And congrats to sister Bee. She’s not only a talented designer, but also modeling too. Watch out Danny! 😉

    • Hi Cambree, Lee’s very proud that her works are on display. It’s a lot of fun for the kids and the rain didn’t dampen the spirit at all. I was surprised to see the purple daisy also, and that’s the rain drops.

Bee is very proud of her handbags, she told me about the handbags photo shoot but I didn’t realize that she’s modeling it as well, kind of nice. 🙂

    • lady0fdarkness, blue is her favorite color, so blue hair with sparkles it is. I’m just glad that it’s not permanent. 🙂

  2. You have a talented family, Nye. I so enjoy your Saturday photo posts. Lee got blue sparkly hair and a goldfish. Sounds like a typical festival.

BTW, when did Spring arrive? I got a foot of snow last night. Oh, right, you live a more habitable area of the country. 😉

    • Hi Scott, it’s not official but Spring definitely has arrived in the South, especially this part of the country. The flower tree buds start to open and they should be in bloom by this weekend.

I do enjoy seeing your snow, but I can’t say that I missed living up North. 🙂

    • Hi Geni, I like her candid shot better than her posed shot. I was taking her photo to show her the colors of her hair.

  3. I can’t believe it’s really full spring there, with things in bloom. Ah well. Another month . . . or two . . .

One of my North Carolina sisters sent me a pretty card with a painting of orchids just like the ones your mother grew. That’s the closest I’ll get to blooms here for awhile!

Mango and sticky rice sounds like a good lunch. The woodfire sounds like a good idea, too. You really did have a good Saturday.

    • Gerry, the Bradford pear trees are in bloom now. It should be completely white by this weekend. And I see that you have snow and expecting more, hopefully it’s the last fall.

  4. I still love your sister’s face handbag!

Lee is so cute with her hair colored! Good thing it’s only hairspray! The mango looks so good! I cannot wait to get back into eating sweet once the diet is over (makes no sense to pig out after a diet) LOL

    • mozemoua, she has made a small laptop bag with face for me but too bad I don’t have a laptop and use it as a handbag instead.

It’s kind of fun to watch Lee with fake hair colors or fake tattoo now, but let’s hope that she won’t want it when she’s a teenager. It’s a scary thought.

    • Hi Boonie, she is not the one on the news, yikes I hope no one will Google her name. 🙂

The gold fish is living in a bigger tank now and s/he is sharing a tank with a black female Beta fish. They get along great.
