Saturday Random Photos

Yesterday we visited the Queen City, the official name is Charlotte and it is the largest city in North Carolina. It’s about 60 miles (96 km) from us, a good one hour drive.

We went to support Ross in his body building competition and this time it was the 2010 NPC Mid-Atlantic Classic. I will post more photos of the men and women competition when I have more time. I worried myself about shooting this competition since the last time I shot with the Auto mode and I wanted to shoot with semi-auto Aperture Priority this time. I set my ISO to auto since I have never shot at this kind of setting before, and do several testing shots prior to the competition to make sure that I have the right setting. This time Ross has a disadvantage where he has little tan, and of course no shine and he came in second place. I’m not very happy with this photo set, somehow I couldn’t get the color to come out right.

We went to the pre-judging at 10:30 am in the morning and also stayed for the night show at 6 pm (18:00). There was several hours gap and we hung out by the Thomson Park which has a Vietnam veteran’s memorial on display.

There is a huge tree with tumor at the park, like people trees get sick also.

  1. Nye – Looks like the weather is pretty nice there this past weekend. You guys are all over the places this weekend.

BTW, is Bo trying to take Danny’s job title?? hahahha Good pose, though..

    • seeharhed, it’s a very tiring weekend. And I’m not used to my new zoom lens in terms of shooting video. I have a hard time focusing on the image and not used to the lens being so long. I really have to practice some more.

As for Bo, it’s hard for him to act natural, but I finally got the shot that I was looking for. 🙂

  2. Charlotte looks like a nice and clean city. At night it looks even nicer.

I was just reading about this news all the way from your town. It’s very sad.

Pond, lot searched for NC girl… AP NEWS.

    • Cambree, it’s very sad for me to hear also.

We don’t visit Charlotte very often, only to take Lee and Na to go see Dora or Disney on Ice. I think the city has changed over the year and many of those high-risings are now residents to many people. I do like the city skyline, especially at night.
