Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!

The slogan of “time flies when you’re having fun” might be true, but I can’t say that I’m having fun at the moment. The end of the year is the most busiest time for me and if I blog less then you know why.  I would say that I’m a procrastinator, certain things that I should be doing early I waited till the last minute and turn in before the deadline, and as for me it is December 31 before midnight.  I guess I would turn into a pumpkin if I don’t make the deadline, but I don’t dare test the power and here I am working diligently on it.

Our work place used to be a relax and casual environment, and now it’s very stressful (for me anyway).  It seems that I’m always racing with time, but that’s the least of my problems. I’m always up for the challenge.  I think most problems can be solved if you think outside the box, but most people only think inside the box and they get frustrated because there is not a lot of room to work with. It’s nice to have friendly and funny co-workers, but I’m sure they probably think I’m the funniest. I took these pictures of them a while back and they probably wondered when I would blog about them. The most recent picture was of Lee who is Hmong-American.  This was meant for my portrait assignment and I explained to him that this would be posted on the Internet and I needed for him to look serious. He must be thinking that millions of girls will be looking, and probably drooling, so this is what I got. *sigh*

My main goal for this portrait assignment was to take portraits of various people from different ethnics. My other co-worker is Caucasian, but she refused to pose for me.  This snapshot of her was one that I took last year on her birthday.

Anyway, I didn’t complete my assignment as planned. My other co-worker was more than happy for me to take her picture, well her webbed toes. I took this picture in May of this year, this is the first time I have seen anything like this and she is planning on getting a tattoo on her twin toes. Can you tell that I work with real nice and friendly people? 🙂

  1. It does help to have fun and friendly co-workers.

You approached him by saying “millions of girls” will be seeing his photo? That is too funny! Lee seem to be in good spirit about it. 🙂

The toe caught me off guard. Reminds me of Aquaman… in this case Aquawoman!

I hope you meet your deadline. As for stressful moments, I find that sniffing peppermint essential oil helps clear my mind.

    • Cambree, I’ve been doing it for 10 years now, and you would have thought that I would have learned by now. The worse year was when I went to Laos and I came back in December, I had to work late into the night on Dec. 31st and turned it in an hour before midnight. That was too close.

Lee is a good sport, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind millions of girls seeing him, still single but not sure if available. 🙂

I don’t know what my co-worker would think if she ever read your comment about Auawoman. 🙂

  2. Interesting photos. The first is the best. Has he been contacted by a lot of fans?
    Try not to overdo things.

    All the best, Boonie

    • Boonie, I had him modeled clothes for us before and the female customers really liked it, I think he has potential.

Thanks for the well wish, things will work out for the best. It always has thus far. 🙂

  3. Great blog, Nye! I don’t envy you the stress. It’s a “killer” and I know you know that. Your humor saves you and the article and pics were wonderful. Always know that I’m thinking of you and your family. Luv, AEC P.S. I have so enjoyed all your photography this year.

    • Thanks Audrey, I think I deal with stress very well, but the last couple of weeks has been worse. I think that’s how it is sometimes, it gets worse before it gets better. One good thing is that I don’t take my work home, and I have time to spend with my family on the weekend.

It’s Oktoberfest this weekend and I hope to be able to go on Sunday. I like to go to the one at Biltmore also.

  4. I tend to work better under pressure when I know I have a deadline to make. I find that time flies when I am keeping busy and that is what I have been doing a lot these days–teaching, writing, and preparing my novel for publication via Lulu.com

    • Hi Jeffrey, I’m the same way, I work best when I’m under a lot of pressure but the only problem with that is that I tend to overlook the minor details and it’s not a good thing for me.
