Lotus and Water Lilies at Wat Lao Buddhavong July 3, 2010

The best time to photograph lotus and water lily is early morning when the buds first open, and my schedules on Saturday and Sunday morning were so hectic that I took these photos on both days while I was waiting for my dad and sisters.

The floating gazebo adds a visual interest to the pond.

Only if I were on the boat, I would have gotten a better closeup shot of the lotus, but not sure if I want to take the chance.

This year lotus and water lilies are very pretty and I hope you enjoy watching my video.

  1. I love water lilies!! We picked some up during my trip to MN, they were all over the place since there are so many lakes in MN, but sadly I wasn’t able to take any home!!!

    1. mozemoua, that’s one thing that I was looking forward to this year was the water lilies, and there were plenty but too bad I didn’t have that much time to photograph.

  2. I googled ‘Lao New Year’ and got to your website by chance. Truly appreciate all information about Laos and pictures you posted including Wat Lao Buddhavong in Washington, D.C. Great information about Nang Sangkhan. Thank you.

    1. Hi Tic, thank for your visit and comment. Wat Lao Buddhavong is a nice place to visit if you are in the area, I regret that I live so far away and could only visit once a year.
