Mike Piromporn Concert at Wat Lao Buddhavong July 3, 2010

Another year of July 4th celebration at Wat Lao Buddhavong. I have to say that the crowd was a lot thinner this year than last year but the entertainment department was packed with great performers. A Louk Toung (country music) singer from Thailand, Mike Piromporn was the highlight of the show and it was a great concert.

  1. Nye – I was there little late on Saturday and I miss his concert at the main stage. Although, I caught portion of Mike’s concert at the smaller stage up the hill. I tried to look for you but no luck:-). Great pictures.

    1. Hi seeharhed, it’s a big temple and there were a lot of people there. I told you that I keep a low profile and not surprised that you can’t find me. πŸ™‚

  2. Hi Nye,

Looks like you had a jam packed weekend of fun and entertainment.

Mike’s music makes me nostalgic for my Lao relatives that are no longer here with us. They would like this kind of music.

Btw, are his fans mostly women and one young boy? JK. I guess they guys are too shy for a celebrity photo pic. πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Cambree, I feel so behind in blogging, a good thing that I’m on vacation this week. πŸ™‚

Mike has been around for a long, long time, he is also know as Michael Issan, a spin off from Michael Jackson. πŸ™‚ I think he has 17 albums thus far so you could imagine his fans ranging from the very young to the elderly. My mom loved his songs also, I’m sure she was enjoying his concert as well. As for his fan (seeharhed) that was supposed to be jamming with him never made it in time for this concert and perhaps it was me that didn’t take photos of his other male fans. πŸ™‚

      1. hahahhahah Nye, I was there the whole time.. So weird that I can’t spot you out of the crowd, I was scanning the crowds for Lee. I was at both stages for his concert.

I like Mike music and I probably have all his 17 albums on mp3. His songs touches so many working class people, the struggles, heart breaks, and daily grinds. All the people that I know whom met him and friends with him has nothing but good thing to say about the guy. He is very down to earth, not your typical today celebrities.

        1. seeharhed, Lee doesn’t have the patient to sit around with me, you’d have better luck looking for my sisters. πŸ™‚

Mike has a good voice, I was impressed with his vocal having to sing in 3 stages back to back and it was still as good as listening to his album. Sounds like you’re his fan and I’m glad that you got to see him in concert.

    1. Hi salalao, I know. I took a bunch of pictures of your sister and brother in-law, I meant to email it to you but just want to make sure. I recognized your family from your blog, I saw your mom and dad also, sat right near them the whole time. πŸ™‚

      1. Thanks for the pictures. I was their late, I was looking for you Iwould have recogined Lee but no luck. I would have love to meet up with you and Seeharhed.

        1. salalao, you’re welcome. We’ve missed each other for the last 2 years, maybe better luck next year. Seeharhed was late also, and I didn’t get to meet him.

        2. salalao, you’re back? welcome back!!! it is been awhile.. hope that things are going well for you. That would be so awesome if I saw both of you guys at the temple.
