Watermelon Treat

One of my favorite summertime treats is the Watermelon with mint and Lemonade.  This is something that’s very easy to prepare and you can refrigerate the leftover for the next day.  I used baby seedless watermelon and the Minute Maid Lemonade frozen concentrated that I bought from my local supermarket. I added chopped mint from my garden, and a pinch of salt for flavor.

It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and it is a nice treat for a hot summer day.

  1. This looks VERY delicious. It will be on our table soon. Do you just pour the lemonade over the melon?
Watermelon is among the best when you’re thirsty.

    • Hi Carsten, yes, I pour the lemonade over the watermelon. The first time that I did it, I poured too much and it was a bit too sour. Watermelon is a great summer treat.

    • Hi Boonsong, thanks for your visit and comment. I checked out your blog, love the photos there also. 🙂

    • mozemoua, it’s easy to fix and watermelon is dirt cheap this time of the year, too bad that I don’t have room in my garden to grow them myself.

  2. That looks really delicious. Growing up back in the 60s, eating watermelon was a summer rite of passage; these days and especially living in Asia, I am surprised how much eating watermelon has caught on–any time of the year.

    • Jeffrey, I think it’s more of a summer treat for us here in the US, any other time of the year is too expensive. I’ll be eating lots of watermelon this summer. 🙂

  3. Watermelon is my official summer time treat. And cantaloupes too!

I have never tried eating watermelon this way. Especially with the mints. It looks mouth watering. Can’t wait to try it out soon.

Btw, have you tried watermelon squeezed with lime juice and sprinkled with Himalayan salt? It is also very good.

    • Cambree, I’ve not tried your version yet and it sounds good, might try it this weekend. I also like the cantaloupe, picking a good one is kind of tricky though, unlike the watermelon where you just tap on it to hear the sound.
