Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! by Frank Sinatra
Our first official snow taken with a Canon PowerShot SD800 IS (first photo), I just hope that I could make it up the hill. I work in the back office, so I only get to see the snow when I walk to the window, but one of my co-workers would walk back to see me once in awhile to give me an update on the snow, and at one point she had both her hands moving back and forth frantically in front of her, that the snow was coming in both directions.
Updated 6:22 pm (18:22), the traffic was really bad coming home. I left work a bit early because I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to climb up the hill. When I left, it looked like a ski slope, I’m at the bottom looking up, and the only way home is going uphill. My 4 wheel drive did very well, and there were several cars and pickup trucks stranded on the side of the road, but I didn’t have any problem even though the roads were getting icy.
The snow is still coming down hard, I think we might be getting more than 6 inches at the rate that it’s coming down.
Max loves the snow, he ate several snow balls today.
Lee made a snow angel.
And you can guess who was dragging her in this picture, definitely not Max.
Our only Christmas decoration in front of our house, the two deer look a lot better with snow. I used a polarizing filter to cut down on the glare of the snow, this made the background a bit darker.
We want some over this way as well. But looks like it just going to be plain old rain:((
PaNoy, I guess we got lucky, I almost didn’t make it home, got stuck in several locations, but managed to craw all the way home. I took more pictures around the house and will update that in a little bit. 🙂
I didn’t know it snowed in NC! I never seen snow in my life. i’m very fascinated by it.
lady0fdarkness, it snows once or twice a year, but normally it’s in January, a bit early this year. I think it’s nice for the kids, Lee got out from school at 9:30 am this morning, it came down faster than the forecast and it’s still coming down hard.
Nye – First of all, nice car:-). I hope they didn’t spread too much salt on the road, so it wouldn’t ruin your car.
Earlier today I received a call from my buddy that lives not too far from you, he said the snow was coming down hard. Hope you harvested all your cabbages from your garden.
seeharhed, I know you meant the Mercedes in the first picture, not mine. 🙂
I harvested my cabbage today, it’s still too young but I didn’t want to take the chance, I’m not sure how they’d do with snow.
Let it snow!
This is nothing compare to where I live, Salt Lake City.
We were bless with several snow storm so far this year, at the moment about 10 inches in my back yard…
give Max big hug for me and please post more of his picture, have a good weekend Nye.
Hi san, we don’t get a lot of snow, so it’s very exciting for us to get this much. I used to live in NYC, and I can’t say that getting lots of snow is a blessing, and that’s one of the reasons why we moved from there. I went out and took more photos this morning, probably nothing compare to yours. 🙂
We got snow at my work, but it was all rain at my house (just 24 miles away). Strange, the temp increases by 2 degree from my work to the airport (34 F to 36 F just within a 3 miles radius). And on my way to work this morning, it was still the same (34 F and then 32 F at work)…a little snow on the ground at work. There’s almost like a line dividing the two regions. I think Winston Salem got lots of snow as well.
Looks like Bo & Emily had lots of fun, and Max. Maybe in Jan we’ll get some nice ones so I can build a snow man for the boys.
PaNoy, I thought you’d be getting it also since you don’t live too far from me, but I guess there is that divided line somewhere. Lee and Max had lots of fun, I’m sure we’ll be going outside again soon. 🙂
It must be nice to have a playground of fresh snow right in your own yard.
It’s like a Winter wonderland out there. 🙂
Hi Cambree, Lee is really enjoying this snow and we still have some left for her to play outside today so it’s kind of nice.
snow is always fun to play in! looks like you guys are having a white christmas?
mozemoua, Lee can’t wait, as soon as I got home she was out there again. If she could, she probably would stay out there all night. 🙂
a typicle child i am sure! I remember when it snowed here last year all the kids wanted to stay out for as long as they can before the snow melts.
mozemoua, it was a good day for her to do a snow angel, she tried it the next day and it was packed and frozen, funny seeing her flapping her arms up and down and nothing happened. 🙂
