Purple Sticky Rice with Coconut and Ice Cream Topping

At Lee’s birthday party last Saturday, I wanted to make the Purple Sticky Rice with Coconut and Mango but couldn’t find a ripe mango anywhere, apparently it’s not in season.  Then my second sister told me that she remembered eating it with ice cream topping in Kamphaeng Phet Thailand when she was younger, and this seems like a good idea.  I had several ice cream flavors for people to choose, my favorite was the coconut pineapple. This was my first time fixing it this way and liked it a lot, something different to try.

    1. eerenoon, I’m not sure why it’s not as popular, maybe it’s because the ice cream melts too fast when place on top of the warm sticky rice, might have to make it yourself to try one. 🙂

    1. Will, I had it with the coconut egg custard on top before, it was good, but I do have to say that I like the mango best, but kind of hard to find during this time of the year. I can get one that would look good in photo but it’s very sour, I guess looks can be deceiving. 🙂

    1. cambree, it’s great, and the only bad thing is that you’ve to eat it right away because the ice cream melt too fast on top of the warm rice.

    1. mozemoua, you can use your sticky rice with coconut from you post, and just top it with ice cream, the only problem…blogging about food makes you gain weight. 😦
