Continued from: A Room With a (Scary) View Part I
After she left, my sense of reality came back, and by this time both my cheeks were covered with tears of fears. The first thing that I did was to grab my keys and ran to my friend’s room next door, it must have been around midnight. My friend asked if there were something wrong, but I didn’t dare tell her the truth, and lied that I couldn’t sleep, that I’m afraid to sleep by myself.
She was being such a sweetheart, and said that her boyfriend was out shooting pool, so she offered to stay with me for awhile. When I got back to my room, the lights and TV were still on, and that’s because I had a dog gear on, and ran like a dog. After my friend came in, I felt much better, we talked for a while, then went to sleep, and this time I didn’t forget to lock the door by the balcony for security reason. I was so tired and drifted to sleep.
I’m not sure how long I had slept, but my friend woke me up, and said to go back to her room. I didn’t refuse her suggestion, and followed her back to her room. But as soon as she opened the door, a big Buddha statue that sat on top of her dresser fell off and split into two pieces after hitting the floor. My friend then called her boyfriend for him to come home immediately. When he came in, she went whispering something to him, then shortly after that he performed a ceremony of inviting the damaged Buddha statue to the empty lot next to the apartment. He came back and took his Nom Mon (blessing water from the Temple) to bless my room.
She asked me to sleep in her room that night, which I didn’t refuse her offer. We fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows, and I woke up at about 4 or 5 in the morning, and felt much better since it was almost daylight. But the lights that shone through the window by the balcony gave me goose bumps because there were many dark shadows in the room. I tried to look, but my eyes were so heavy that it was hard to see, then I became paralyzed again.
I understood then the meaning of Pee Umm (loosely translated as ghost controlling your body while you’re asleep, but I believe that it’s the same as a paradoxical sleep) and tried to Soud Mon (said my prayers) but it didn’t seem to work, then the most frightening things happened. One of the black shadows got up and walked toward me, then pressed down on my chest.
At this time I was screaming for help, but I didn’t think my friend heard me at all. I tried to say my prayers again, but I couldn’t finish a single verse. I kept thinking that this is it, my time has come because I couldn’t breath. I thought of my mom and dad, that they are my true Pra (Buddha) and I thought of them and plead for their help, to protect me from this evil spirit. Not long after that I was able to move my hands, and fought off the evil spirit, the dark shadow on top of me vanished.
After that I saw a shadow of a lady in white dress standing next to me. She didn’t waste anytime greeting, but reached down to my neck with both hands, chocking me. This time was worse than the previous one, her grip was so strong that I had a hard time breathing, and tears ran down my cheeks. I prayed for my parents to help me once more, and all the goodness that they have done to protect me from this ghost lady, she was squeezing the life out of me.
As if miracle happened, I was released from the Pee Umm rhymes, I screamed at the top of my lungs and called my friend’s name for help. She and her boyfriend both heard me, and got up at the same time, then he walked over to turn on the lights, and turned back to me and said, “It’s okay, they all left.” By this time I was soaked in sweat, my hands were cold and pale, I was in a state of shock. After I calmed down, we went back to sleep and my friend held my hand till the morning.
The next morning, I looked terrible, I was so tired from last night incidents. My friend told me that while she was sleeping in my room, she had a dream that a lady told her to leave the room, and don’t take me with her, but my friend refused. When she woke up, she then asked me to come to sleep in her room because she had a hunch that something bad was going to happen to me.
As for her boyfriend, when he came home last night, he felt like something was pulling his legs. But since he was so sleepy and tired, and not afraid of ghost, he shook his leg and kicked it off. And even threatened that if it pulled again, he’ll kick so hard that it’d forget which hole it came from.
I had to stay in that room for 3 months because I didn’t want to lose my deposit money, but during my stayed, I plastered Yantra all over the room to prevent evil spirits from entering.
After the 3 months was up, I moved out from that apartment into a brand new apartment that had just finished, it’s about 500 Meters (0.31 Mile) from my old apartment.
You probably think that I’m lucky to have moved into this new place and probably have not seen anything like this again. But you are wrong!
