Remembrance of American war dead

Today is Memorial Day, it is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service.

Yes it’s a federal holiday, and most have a long weekend, but sadly not for us. We’ve to work today, so I had my memorial day cook out yesterday.  I never fail to take food photos, but this time I didn’t.  We went to Dan Nickolas Park afterward, it’s great to be a kid on a hot summer day.
