The Secrete of Looking Young

Another year goes by, I don’t care if you’re a guy, gal, or somewhere in between, you get older each year, this is something that we all can’t prevent. We all want to look young, but if you’re one of those that are afraid of pain, then plastic surgery is out of the question for you. If you are not afraid of pain and have plenty of money to blow, then there’s risk and danger of plastic surgery, or worse you might end up looking like Michael Jackson. I guess there’s a secrete (not) for everything, looking young is another that most people want to know. I found an interesting article in Kwanruen Magazine, by Lavender written in Thai language that might shed some light on how to make you look younger.

Your skin complexion tells your age. If you look at little kid, they have a very smooth and clear complexion, therefore you have to take care of your skin first. What you can’t live without is a moisturizer, you have to put it on everyday. Make sure you get the kind that is compatible to your skin type, such as oily skin, dry skin, or combination skin.

Next is sunblock because the UV ray from the sun can aged you really fast. Every morning make sure you use at least SPF 15 for start, some moisturizers come with SPF, and if you know that you will be out in the sun all day, then increase to SPF 45.

If you are at least 30 years old, don’t plug or waxed your eyebrows for fun. The new hair might not be the same color, worse they might look gray, and they’ll grow back a lot slower. If the shape of your eyebrows look odd, then it’ll make you look older.

When you put on your eye shadow, make sure it’s a lighter shade because it’ll make your eyes look bigger. Try to avoid the glittering kind because it will make it look unnatural. As for mascara, Asian women should use dark brown or black only.

Try to get your teeth as white as you can. If you pay close attention to older folks, their teeth are either yellowish or grayish looking. If you don’t want to look like them, then try to avoid drinking coffee, tea, or smoking because these are the main causes for yellow teeth. The easiest and fastest way is to bleach your teeth, and there’s many products out there that you can purchase that are very affordable. Sexy people have sparkling white teeth.

Hair style is very important, and can make you look older or younger instantly. Try a new hair cut, if you get many compliments that it makes you look good, then that should be it, otherwise most women look good at chin length.

Find yourself a cool sunglasses. Have you not notice that all movie stars wear shades. At least it serves the purpose of blocking out the sun, and also helps to hide all the wrinkle and puffiness around your eyes, making you look young and cool instantly.

Most important is to get enough sleep, eat healthy, and exercise on a regular basis for better health and better skin complexion.

  1. A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever from Book 1 of “Endymion”
    by John Keats

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o’er-darkened ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits. Such the sun, the moon,
Trees old, and young, sprouting a shady boon
For simple sheep; and such are daffodils
With the green world they live in; and clear rills
That for themselves a cooling covert make
‘Gainst the hot season; the mid-forest brake,
Rich with a sprinkling of fair musk-rose blooms:
And such too is the grandeur of the dooms
    We have imagined for the mighty dead;
All lovely tales that we have heard or read:
An endless fountain of immortal drink,
Pouring unto us from the heaven’s brink.

Nor do we merely feel these essences
For one short hour; no, even as the trees
That whisper round a temple become soon
Dear as the temple’s self, so does the moon,
    The passion poesy, glories infinite,
Haunt us till they become a cheering light
Unto our souls, and bound to us so fast
That, whether there be shine or gloom o’ercast,
They always must be with us, or we die.

One of my favorite lines to recite when I stumble upon the question(s) on beauty. I know them by heart since my college years–mixed within my basal matters.

  2. The first line of this poem… A thing of beauty is a Joy forever reminds me of the song you like Motherland. They both remind me of the beauty of nature and how sometimes we are the cause of that destruction because we take for granted its beauty. This poem reminds me of the need to reconnect with mother nature. Both the song and the poem brings back very early memories of my time spent in a small village by the mountain in Laos. It brought back flashes of memories of my grandma, siblings and I picking mushrooms in the mountains… the sensation of the cool breeze sweeping through the forest, the sensation of being enveloped in a welcoming embrace … that sense of oneness with nature has never left me. For me nature is that thing of beauty that gives me joy.

Bob, I love Keats, but I also love William Wordsworth’s poem, “Daffodils”. It reminds me of Keat’s poem you posted!:)

  3. “…I gazed — and gazed — but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.”

Indeed the beauty of life and existence reside not just in nature, but within each and everyone of us as well. We are all collections of the best & worst of nature. This is why it is such a heavy load that we all must carry in life if we do not realize it (or if we realized it but refuse to accept it).

  4. Thanks Dallas, but that’s not me…I’m a bit darker with bigger eyes (and not as pretty, but don’t tell anyone. 😉 )

If I remembered correctly, she is an ELLE model but I can’t remember her name.
