Bo has 2 Jack Dempsey Fish. I couldn’t tell if they are male or female. I know that I shouldn’t worry, they will figure out for themselves. But that doesn’t stop me from wondering. Bo seems to think that he has a male and a female, he thinks the one on the left is a male. The dorsal and anal fins of mature males have long, pointed tips, and the females lack these exaggerated tips.

To be honest, I’m not sure what they are doing. If they are mating or fighting. The fish was named after a famous 1920s boxer Jack Dempsey, and the name refers to its aggressive nature and strong facial features.

Their colors change under stress, and you can see the suttle changes of color in the video.

Jack Dempsey can often appear shy and they like to hide in cave. This one has a nice log that it likes to hide in.

I always wondered if you had an aquarium at home. We used to have one growing up filled with little fishes, then we moved and gave it away.
Fishes make the perfect pet because it’s so relaxing to watch them swim. But of course these are fishes name after a boxer, so maybe it’s a bit more entertaining. JK.

cambree, Bo used to have a 50 gallons several years back, and this one is a 30 gallons. The Jack Dimpsey are beautiful when they change colors, but I’m just afraid that they might hurt each other. I guess it’s normal, after doing a little research I think they are mating. And here I’m shooting video of fish p0rn.
Lee also has a 10 gallons fish tank and she was fussing that I didn’t post her fish, I’ll do that next time.

Is Bo planning on become a fish breeder? JK. The colors on the Dempsey fishes are pretty!
Also looking forward to seeing Lee’s fish tank next.

Cambree, he tried to breed them before without much success, but he might get lucky this time. The pair seem to be very content and healthy. I will try to post Lee’s fish tank next so stay tune.
