I’ve exhausted all possible ways to fix the Err 01 clean the lens contacts, as of right now I have a kit lens that I could use.  It’s not what I’m used to, and I’ve never shot with it before until now.

I was testing to see if the problem were in the lens or the camera, and clearly it is the lens.  I’ll need to send it off to have it clean, we don’t have any local camera store that would service the lens.  The closest camera store is in Charlotte and that’s one hour drive away.

I’m glad that this kit lens came with Image Stabilizer (IS), and the image of this gift handmade soap from Cambree Notes came out nice.

I’m thinking about buying a new lens, definitely can’t afford another L-series lens and came across one that I thought I might like, the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto.  It has great reviews, and not very pricey. I like the fact that it allows you to get closer to the image, the f/1.8 will come in handy under low lighting conditions, great for food photography and will allow you to shoot closeup with a nice bokeh background. I’m sold.

Paeonia ‘Krinkled White’ and ‘Scarlett O’Hara’

The Paeonia ‘Krinkled White’ finally bloom, the name must have come from the white crinkle petals.

I was just bragging about my lens EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens to a friend and on Sunday while I was shooting Grandma’s garden an error message #1 came up that I need to clean my lens contacts.  I didn’t know what to do at the time but luckily I had my 70-200mm telephoto lens with me and was able to continue shooting with it. After doing some search on the Internet, I knew where to clean and was able to shoot this image below.  It only did a few shots after this one, and it made this weird noise while I was shooting and the error message came up again. I brought this lens in April of 2008, so I had it for several years now.

I switched back to my EF70-200mm f/4L USM lens, this is the only good lens that I have left until I have something figured out. The Dragon Boat race is coming up and this lens will work fine at the race.
