Killdeer Broken Wing Act

We visited Bo’s parents yesterday and saw a Killdeer bird faking a broken wing act.  It’s so funny to watch, and it’s obvious that she was faking it, I guess she didn’t think so.  This one was trying to distract us from its nest.

Bo put rocks around it so his dad wouldn’t run over with a lawnmower. He didn’t plant the flower btw, she just picked a nice spot.

As soon as she saw me coming, she stepped away from her nest.

As soon as I approached her nest, she took off running and faking her broken wings.

She is a drama queen, the daddy was nearby.

Max was watching it from a distance.  Normally he could roam freely when he visits Bo’s parents, but this time he couldn’t.
