Today I visited a local nursery that I usually buy my pickling cucumber and other vegetables. They are out in the country.

They have a good selection of vegetables and they look very healthy.

Their Thai basil actually smells like a Thai basil, unlike the big store where they grow and store them next to the sweet basil and the smells of the sweet basil took over.  I bought young pickling cucumber plants, sweet basil, Thai basil, and cherry tomato plants.

We had bamboo soup for lunch at my dad’s, I think my second sister finally perfected the taste.

My sister Bee made me a black leather tote bag, it was a nice surprise and I didn’t expect one.

My mom’s orchid, the lower branch is in the 14th week of blooming and still looking as pretty as ever.

It’s planting season in my dad’s garden, he has been tilling all week.

My second sister planting the Asian corn.  It’s a tradition for her to drop the corn kernels into the holes since she’s the one with the green thumb. I’m looking forward to ears of fresh corn this summer.

Instead of pickling cucumber they have decided to plant a normal cucumber this year.

This is a stink bug. I’m surprised to see them this early because I normally see them in late Summer and Fall.

I wonder if the parsley’s flowers have nectar, I know they attract the bees.

This spider is so tiny, a macro lens would come in handy.

I hope the pomegranate fruits stick this year, so far it looks promising and I’m hopeful.

And when I came home the Paeonia ‘Krinkled White’ finally blooms, I’m sure I’ll have more to post in the next few days.
