- Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano

I think the morning after the snow is always fun for the kids, and a good thing that today is Saturday and most of us don’t have to work. It’s so bright and white outside that I decided to use a polarizing filter to cut down on the glare of the snow. My backyard is covered with snow, I think we got anywhere from 4-6 inches of snow this time.

The cabbage bed was covered with snow, a good thing that I harvested most of it yesterday and will be making Spring Rolls today.

Max loves being outside.

The neighborhood kids were outside having fun, Lee didn’t join in since we were on a mission to snowman hunt.

First off was her very own snow man, all white and a bit hard to spot him.

The second one was across the street from us.

And the last one was a block away, this one might be a winner, he was all dressed up.

Bo went out this morning and he said that the road conditions were not that bad, they plowed the major roads, but didn’t come into neighborhoods. The weather is warm today, so I’m sure it’ll melt by tomorrow.

The bradford pear tree leaves are falling.

The last leave in my front yard.

This one has a bird nest, we didn’t notice it until the leaves started to fall off, now it’s covered with snow.

One of our deer, or shall I say my deer.

I’m not sure if it were everywhere, but here down South people actually decorate the trees outside. This one was from one of our neighbor’s yards.

Mother nature does her own decorations, this is a picture of my holly tree.

I can’t help but to think that it looks like someone’s bonny hands trying to craw out.

Nice pictures. Looks like you got more than 6 inches in the backyard by the fence. I miss building snow man:((
The ‘bony hands’ picture is very perceptive of you. I think it’s a skeletal remain of the ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ creature that went missing months ago:))
And the last picture is like a very old creature of sort, covered in a large drape and bent over, heavy and tired, after a long journey through heavy snow storm.

Thanks PaNoy, a lot of interesting things out there, and the snow started to melt when I was out there. I guess not your typical winter wonderland picture.
We’re expecting to get more next week, maybe in time for Christmas.

To see the snow man, kids play on the street and the song…
I feel like it is Christmas, you take good picture Nye!
The berry is lovely
The bird nest and blue sky is peaceful
The best of all is Max, he’s so handsome, great capture.

Hi san, taking picture is something that I enjoy doing and I’m happy to be able to share them here. It’s a lot of fun to be in the company of the little kids, their laughter adds color and joy to our lives, even if it’s for a brief moment. And thanks for your kind comments.

Lee’s first attempt at making a snowman is not too bad. I always imagine using a carrot for the nose. The neighbor’s hat and scarf is cheerful. Feels like a winter wonderland to me.
I also love holly berries, especially when cover with snow. Nice photos as always. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays to everyone!

Cambree, Bo helped her with this one, we didn’t have any carrot at home but she is happy with the outcome. I’m sure she thinks that hers’ is the best looking one of them all.
And a Happy Holiday to you and your family.

Wow, you realy got snow!! It looks so nice with a blue sky. We have had some too, and frost down to -19 C at nights.

Hi giiid, it’s not as cold here, so it’s kind of nice for the kids to play outside.

wow you guys got snow pretty early this year! Do you guys actually get snow every year for winter or just certain time of the year like us (if we are lucky)?
Oh and to fix the glare from the snow, all you need to do is set it on manual mode, adjust your fstop and your shutterspeed so it’ll be on the middle of the meter and you should be good to go.

mozemoua, thanks for the tip, I’ve to give it a try the next time that we’ve snow.
We usually get one or two every year, but mostly ice or a few inches, and it melts by the afternoon. This is kind of early for us, it usually snows in January.

Nye,, I thought it was too early for you guys too, but I wasn’t so sure. We normally get ours in January as well, but last year we got ours in March, which was very odd. Ours normally melt within the afternoon or the next day as well. I wonder if we are goign to see any this year.

mozemoua, surprisingly we still have lots of snow on the ground, I thought it’d have melt by now.

Nye – Still snowing in your area? I saw on the news, this particular storm did some havocked on travelers across the east coast. Some of the NFL games were push back at the later game time. I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with snow

seeharhed, it’s not snowing anymore, but it’s not melting as fast this time due to the cold weather. My boss Mercedes got stuck on Friday going home, but my Toyota has no problem, I left everyone behind even when I was going 35 miles per hour.

Sambaidee Nye, It’s nowing in Utah, no fun driving on rust hour and consider fast if you can do 20/mph.
Last nite was very tick fogged, mystery!

Sambaidee san, one of the reasons why my parents moved from NYC was because of the snow, we had to get up at 4 am to shovel the snow off the sidewalk and driveway before going to work and school, then when we get back in the evening, it’s doing it all over again, that’s the life up North for us.
A lot of people got stranded on the side of the road in our area, I hope you’ve a four wheel drive. It’s also a good idea to have blankets in the car in case you get stranded, no need for water because you could always eat the snow.

Hi Nye,
Feeling good after finishing shovel the driveway and sidewalk, look like a long season for me snowboarding, many lakes have thick ice safe enough for ice fishing.

Hi san, sounds like it, the snow starts early this year, ours has not melt yet, and a good chance that we might get some snow again next week.
Snowboarding sounds like fun, I went skiing twice in NJ and really liked it.
