This post is for my oldest sister. Dad’s garden is looking very good, comparing to last week, this week many of his vegetables are in bloom, and some even bear fruits or should it be called vegetables.

Second sister child proof her fishpond, in preparing for the little nieces coming for July 4th week.

Little niece, she loves posing for photos, we put her to work, she picked sunflower seeds for grandpa.

Today is a special day, father’s day, so we had a get together, as always there was plenty of food.

Dad asked me to make spring roll this time.

It was real nice, but I kind of miss mom for not being here, one of dad’s neighbors’ tree, the Mimosa tree made me think of her, she loved this tree because it reminded her of ‘Tun Ga Tin’.

Wow, that is the best looking home garden I have seen these days. My mom’s garden has not been doing so well with all the strange weather we’ve been having these days. Not to mention we are making her go “organic” too.
Your mom would be so proud to know your dad did such a great work with the garden. That mimosa tree is huge. But wait… how come you don’t have your own “Tun Ga Tin” yet? I thought every Lao family had one of their own
And the little niece is so cute, I just want to just those cheeks. She’s lucky to have grown up near nature and also got to know her grandpa too.

That is such a great garden, I live in the wrong part of the country…the growing season is just too short. LOL. We are trying to sell our house so I can’t do anything to costly but your fish pond is inspiring. I’d like to make a noy version that I can somehow move .. : )
LOL…. and now I’m craving spring roll.. even though it is only 10 am : D

Hi Nye, is that 3rd roll picture of a pomegranate? I saw it on the last posting & was just wondering. Also, your father started that from seed?
Thanks for another posting of the garden. Looks like the long beans are coming along wonderfully.
Let’s see how your garden is coming along.

Hi PaNoy, the pomegranate is from a plant that I bought for my mom several years back, and I also got one for myself, but mine died.
My garden is not doing so well, the string beans are only knee high.

Salat, my dad has been busy in his garden, I think it’s good for him, I was able to take his photo this time, and I think it adds life to his garden. My niece is very photogenic, she’d strike a pose when ever she sees my camera aiming her way, if not then she’d walk over and ask me to take a picture of her. My mom tried to grow ‘tun ga tin’ without success, but the neighbor is right next door, so we can admire theirs.
Kelly, I think we also live in the wrong part of the country, and if I have a choice it’d be in Florida or California, but we’re here now and it doesn’t look like we’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. I like my fishpond; I’m hoping to add an herb garden next to it. Spring roll is about the only thing that I’m good at.

Hi Lyn, thanks for the plug, it has been wild around here lately.
I love taking photos, and images appear prettier through the camera lens, but I’m beginning to see life through the camera lens nowadays, and it’s very pretty to look at.

Beautiful shots… I can live with veggies alone where you can pick at the backyard such as this. How amazing it is to live the ‘provincial’ life. Oh that kid looks adorable.

K, we always grow our own vegetables as long as I could remember, but I do wish that the weather is not so cold here in the winter months, some of the tropical plants have to be brought in door, then replant them outside when it’s warm enough, this stunt the growth, and most will not bear any fruit at all, but it’s pretty to look at.
