I wrote this post not too long ago for Lao Voices called, Anonymous as in AnonyMOUSE. I believed that people get carried away with their comments and I’m not a big fan of Ego-boasting types of talk, and fancy polish Shakespearean talk is a real turn off to me, I’m sure to others as well. For those that know me, I’m a very simple person, but very detail oriented so I pay close attention to little details that some might have overlooked. I like to post part of this post here, with some modification for Nye Noona’s readers; for some of you that might have read this already but might not have understood what being a guest at someone’s house means, my blog is like my home, my living room that welcomes everyone.
It’s rare to find reliable news coming from Laos, if we do hear then it’s only half the news, the good news that is. For most of us, it’s even worse that we only understood half in what we read, instead of trying to understand the situation, we become so enraged and have the itch to put our two cents worth and not fully understand the real issues of discussion. In the virtual world, we can be anyone we want, for most of us we choose to remain anonymous but keep in mind that you’re not as anonymous as you think.
As anonymous commenter, some might feel that they can say anything that they want because it’s a virtual world…it has no bearing(s) on feelings. Right? Actually, it’s not all true. When you’re replying to a comment of certain individual, you are indirectly talking to other readers as well. It’s very upsetting for some readers to be in the crossfire of War of Words, when they only come to visit mainly for entertaining. I welcome constructive criticism, comments that add value to the post, and comments that apply to the post, but not insult or comments of self promotion, as you can see I don’t have Ads on my blog because I don’t want to annoy my readers. For some commenter, it becomes a control issue, if that’s the case then it might be time for you to start your own blog, voicing your opinion in the fashion that suits you best.
Some might say, ‘this is a free country, we have the freedom of speech,’ yes indeed, but please try to be civil about it, this is a personal blog. As an anonyMouse myself, my guideline in writing and commenting is that I’ve the freedom to voice my opinion as long as I’m not ashamed to put my real name and face next to it. We have a very small Lao online community, and you are a guest at my blog, you have to respect my readers as well, if you have the need and itch to insult someone, please go somewhere else.
I feel sad that I have to post this here, writing this post for Lao Voices wasn’t bad because it’s more heavily traffic than Nye Noona but never thought that I would have the same issue here at my personal blog. I sincerely apologize to my readers of what had happened in the last month or so, and thanks for your patience and visit.
