I love this Thai song, ‘it means that we’re still breathing’ might sound a bit sad especially during this time of the year, but I think it reflects the reality of life…very much like a drama.

Thank you for the post of the song. I’m looking forward to the translation.
Are you familiar with a record called Thai Pop Spectacular? It was released in August by a label called Sublime Frequencies, which operates out of the Seattle area. It is a compilation of well-known pop songs from Thailand that were recorded from the 1960s through the 1980s. All of the modern music genres seem to be represented on the disc. What I’ve heard of it on college radio has been wonderful, so I’m debating whether or not to order it from amazon.com.

Hi Seiji, I’m glad that you like the song; I think certain songs can touch us in a special way.
As for the Thai Pop Spectacular, I used to listen to this type of music when I was younger living in Thailand, more of a Thai classic/country music. I posted 3 songs for you; see if you still like them, they’re the Thai authentic classic songs.

Yes, the “Underwear” song!!! It’s the one that got regular rotation on college radio last fall. That song is worth the price of the entire album! I will certainly buy it next chance I get. I hope English translations are contained in the CD.
I’ll also check the Sublime Frequencies site for other interesting records. I think I once saw an album of traditional Lao songs listed there.

Seiji, you are most welcome, as for the Ethnic Minority Music of Southern Laos’s mp3, here is my post, see if you like the songs, they are different from the Thai songs, more tradition as far as the musical instruments and the style of singing, I’m from the Southern region of Laos BTW.
